
About Sand Art
Sand art or sand painting is the name of a new kind of art found in Vietnam in 1997. Despite its late start, it has been growing extensively in number and type that can be roughly divided into four main categories: landscape, working people, portrait and Vietnamese ancient calligraphy.
Landscape: Describing the wonder of national nature through the beauty of distinguished sightseeing in Vietnam and countries around the world
Working people: Describing the daily working routine of Vietnamese, especially that of minority people
Portrait: considered as the most complicated category in sand painting that requires sand artist to skillfully portrait not only all the physiological distinctiveness of the subject facial features, but also the unique personally evoked by certain emotional qualities of the subject.
Vietnamese ancient calligraphy: recapturing numerous calligraphic pictures by using sand or create completely new paintings in this form.
Working people: describe the daily working routine of Vietnamese, especially that of minority people
Besides the listed above, meaningful paintings of Feng Sui art, still life photography, animal and pets, etc, are also currently added to the sand art bank.
